Position: Rooms Controller
Location: Miami Beach, FL
Compensation: $20 per hour

A luxury hotel in Miami Beach is seeking a Rooms Controller to support back-of-house rooms operations, with a strong focus on inventory control, room assignments, Opera system management, and coordination with Front Office and Housekeeping. This role is operational and detail-driven, supporting optimal room flow, occupancy accuracy, and guest readiness.
Key Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in Rooms, Reservations, or Front Office Operations within a luxury hotel environment
• Strong working knowledge of Opera PMS / CRS
• Solid understanding of room inventory management, room blocks, and room assignment logic
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time-sensitive operational priorities
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Front Desk, Housekeeping, Sales, and Revenue
• Experience in Forbes-rated or high-volume luxury properties preferred

Core Responsibilities

• Manage daily room inventory control, room status accuracy, and room assignments in Opera
• Process reservation modifications, cancellations, and internal room moves with precision
• Coordinate group room blocks, rooming lists, cut-off dates, and waitlists in partnership with Sales and Front Office
• Maintain accurate guest profiles, preferences, and detailed internal notes within Opera
• Support high-occupancy periods by balancing arrivals, departures, VIPs, and special requests
• Ensure correct rate codes, billing instructions, deposits, and payment routing
• Communicate effectively with Front Desk and Housekeeping to ensure room readiness and operational flow
• Prepare daily operational reports and assist with forecasting and occupancy planning
• Execute shift handovers with clear documentation and follow-ups
