Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Clerk of Works to join their team and play a crucial role within their highways & transport operations.  

Position: Clerk of Works (Project Delivery)
Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (June 2026) Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Job Purpose: 

• To be responsible for the deliver the Council’s Capital Project programme by managing and monitoring of construction activities on-site of term contractors, sub-contractors’ other departments, utility companies and external organisations.

Job Duties: 

• To supervise contractors to oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with the Council’s Streetsmart Design Guide, works orders, drawings, specifications, highway construction standards and Project Engineers’ instructions. 
• To ensure quality control is undertaken by regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes to maintain high quality throughout the project.
• To ensure health and safety is implemented and enforced and all safety protocols on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for construction workers and the public.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Experience of working in the Transport and Highways industry at a project delivery level. 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
