JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Children’s Home Manager to support the leadership and daily operations of a residential children’s home for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC).
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and supportive home environment for young people who have experienced trauma, loss and displacement.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will lead a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Registered Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of children's residential care services. This pivotal role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with Ofsted standards
- Support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards
- Lead and supervise Residential Support Workers on shift, ensuring clear handovers and accountability
- Manage day-to-day operations of the home, including safeguarding responses and incident management
- Ensure accurate and timely case recording on Liberi and quality assure staff records
- Support children to attend appointments, reviews and education activities
- Assist with admissions, room availability and home occupancy planning
- Complete supervision sessions, development plans and support staff performance
- Promote equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
- Foster positive outcomes for children through meaningful activity planning and emotional support
- Work flexibly across shift patterns to monitor and maintain standards
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

- Experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting
- Experience leading or supervising staff on shift
- Experience working within Ofsted regulations and children’s residential care standards
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing risk
Essential Skills: - Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- Confident using IT systems, including case management systems such as Liberi
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Qualifications: - NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent) / GCSE level education
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
