JOB ROLE

A leading law firm is seeking an associate with four to six years of energy transactional experience to join its Regulatory Affairs practice.

The successful candidate will have experience handling a broad range of energy sector transactions, with particular exposure to power and transmission-related agreements and regulatory matters.


JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Advise clients on a variety of energy and infrastructure transactions
• Draft and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements, interconnection agreements, and electric service agreements
• Support matters involving transmission services and large load customers
• Assist with regulatory and commercial aspects of energy projects
• Conduct legal due diligence and manage transaction processes from inception to completion
• Collaborate with internal teams and provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• 4–6 years of experience in energy transactional law
• Demonstrated experience with Power Purchase Agreements and interconnection agreements (including generators, transmission, and load)
• Familiarity with large load matters, electric service agreements, and transmission service issues
• Experience handling industry-specific energy transactions
• Background in a law firm or comparable legal environment
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and work effectively within a team environment
