Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in the East of England, are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role within their highways asset operations. 

Position: Senior Engineer
Rate: £384.77 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Job Purpose: 

• To maintain highway assets, these include 165 bridges, 199 culverts, 13 retaining walls and 2 tanks. 

Job Duties: 

• We currently have a requirement for a Senior Engineer to assist this team in the delivery of the annual structures maintenance programme.
• Reporting to the Team Leader the Senior Engineer will assist in the identification, development and delivery of structures maintenance projects.
• Key responsibilities will include inspections, feasibility and design, stakeholder liaison and the preparation of specifications and drawings.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Incorporated Engineer status or to be working towards Chartered status (preferred).
• At least 5 years post qualification experience in a related or relevant profession.
• Experience in the inspection of structures and the preparation of inspection reports.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
