Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in West Sussex, are looking for an experienced HR Recruitment and Contract Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their human resources operations.   

Position: HR Recruitment and Contract Officer
Rate: £19.25 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Dec 2026) Possible Extension  

Purpose:

• To provide professional, proactive HR support to the organisation during a period of increased project activity. The role will ensure continuity of day-to-day HR operations, supporting managers across a wide range of people matters while contributing to the effective delivery of recruitment, employee relations advice, and HR reporting.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Provide advice and guidance to managers on the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring compliance with Council procedures and best practice.
• Advise managers on contractual terms and conditions, including local and national agreements, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
• Coordinate and facilitate recruitment activity, including advertising, shortlisting support and interview processes.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date contractual records within HR systems in line with data protection requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Up to date working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
• CIPD qualification or commensurate experience.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
