PAY RATE: £55,323 - £58,641 annual
WORK TYPE: Permanent
WORK PATTERN: Full Time
LOCATION: London
JOB SUMMARY As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will take responsibility for the management and development of the Social Care Occupational Therapy Service. This is a dynamic, hybrid role, combining:
60% leadership and management – supervising and supporting a small team of Occupational Therapists
40% hands-on clinical work – completing assessments and helping reduce waiting lists/backlogs
You will work directly with children and young people aged 0–25, supporting those with disabilities and complex needs to live as independently as possibl
JOB DESCRIPTION The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
Lead, manage, and support Occupational Therapy staff through supervision and guidance
Carry out functional assessments for children and young people
Recommend and facilitate provision of specialist equipment and home adaptations
Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams
Drive service improvements and contribute to reducing waiting lists
Ensure high-quality, child-centred practice across the service
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
Proven experience within a Children’s Social Care setting
Strong background in working with children with disabilities
Experience in a management or supervisory role
Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with a clinical caseload
Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
