Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Estate Planning Attorney with 1–3 years of relevant experience to join their Madison office as Special Counsel. This is a full-time, non-partner track position within the Estate Planning Practice Group.

In this role, you will support attorneys on a wide range of estate planning and administration matters. You will work with individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations, providing sophisticated counsel in estate planning, trust administration, and wealth management.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Draft complex estate planning and business succession documents for high-net-worth individuals
• Prepare charitable giving and tax-exempt organization documents
• Advise clients on income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax planning
• Assist with probate proceedings for both taxable and non-taxable estates
• Prepare and process federal gift and estate tax returns
• Collaborate with attorneys and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality client service

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE 

• 1–3 years of experience in estate planning and related areas
• Strong foundation in estate, trust, and tax law, including fiduciary and gift tax concepts
• Excellent drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Ability to obtain Wisconsin Bar admission in a timely manner
