Job Role: Principal Planning Policy Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 12 months (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position 
Location: Portsmouth
Pay Rate / Salary: £60p/h Umbrella

Job Summary:
We need a very experienced Principal Policy Officer to lead on key aspects of the examination including Biodiversity and Transport.
  
Flexible hybrid working but attendance in office on a Tuesday is mandatory. Joining a very friendly team of 8 people

Job Responsibilities: 

• Lead on key aspects of the preparation, monitoring and review of the Local Plan and other development plan documents
• Lead on research and analysis to support the preparation of the Local Plan and other development plan documents
• Analyse and respond to planning legislation/guidance and policy consultations.
• Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in your responsibilities within the planning department, assisting others with other work areas as required including Development Management
• Comment on local pans from neighbouring local planning authorities.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Principal Planning Policy Officer role or equivalent.
• A degree in Town and Country Planning or equivalent qualification.
• A member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
• Local Plan examination experience
