Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role within budling control operations.  

Position: Building Control Surveyor
Rate: Negotiable (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (August 2026) Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• The Building Control Service within the Planning Division is responsible for the scrutiny of full plans applications, Building Notices and Regularisation Applications for compliance with the Building Regulation, the Building Act and other relevant legislation including examination of structural details and calculations.

Job Duties: 

• Assistance in the registration of new applications including checking estimates and building costs and assessing plan and inspection charges.
• The Scrutiny of Full Plans applications, Building Notices, and Regularisation Applications for compliance with the Building Regulations, the Building Act and other relevant legislation including examination of structure details and calculations.
• To advise applicants of the amendments required in those cases that do not comply with the Building Regulations and Building Acts, negotiating with those applicants and arrange for the necessary amendments to be made.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Building Control Surveyor role or equivalent.
• Registered as a minimum Class 2 RBI on the National Register.
• Holds a valid Driving License and access to own vehicle required. 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
