JOB SUMMARY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Physiotherapist to join the Reablement Service, providing physiotherapy services to adults with diverse and complex needs within the community.

You will work as part of a supportive inter-professional team, aiming to help clients regain skills, confidence, and independence to remain safely at home. You will manage a clinical caseload, delivering high-quality assessments and interventions while contributing to safe and timely discharge planning. Support and guidance from a senior therapist will be available.
The therapy service is evolving, and this role offers opportunities to contribute to service development, education, and health promotion initiatives, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and HCPC standards.

  
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Undertake inter-professional assessments and independently manage a caseload of routine and complex clients requiring rehabilitation and reablement.
• Negotiate goals with clients and deliver tailored physiotherapy treatment programmes using clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice (e.g. manual therapy, gait re-education, postural management, exercise programmes, equipment provision, and health promotion).
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, GPs, and health and social care professionals via face-to-face, telephone, email, or written correspondence.
• Educate clients about their conditions, adapting communication methods to overcome barriers such as language differences or complex neurological impairments.
• Participate in and initiate multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and reviews.
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and inter-professional framework, attending team meetings and training as required.
• Support service development and contribute to an effective inter-professional working environment.
• Delegate appropriately to Rehabilitation Support Workers and Therapy Assistants, contributing to their training and development.
• Supervise Therapy Assistants and support the education of students and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and data in line with organisational, service, and HCPC requirements.
• Maintain professional registration and practise in accordance with HCPC standards, CSP Rules of Professional Conduct, and Standards of Physiotherapy Practice

  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration.
• Broad physiotherapy experience, including community-based practice.
• Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and insurance covering work use.
