Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Housing Association in Newcastle, are looking for an experienced Governance Business Partner to join their team and play a crucial role in their risk and governance operations. 

Position: Governance Business Partner
Rate: £20 per Hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) Possible Extension   

Purpose:

• You support the Governance and Risk Manager in helping the client maintain a strong governance environment by taking responsibility for audit requirements, supporting governance policy development and maintaining key registers and legal/regulatory return processes.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Effectively support with fraud & bribery investigations reported to the Governance team, working with Assurance services to make recommendations to the Head of Governance and Risk, and Audit Committee.
• Be primary contact for collation of whistleblowing complaints, determining appropriate escalation routes through the business and establishing appropriate investigative teams as appropriate. Prepare annual report for Audit Committee identifying instances and themes of whistleblowing reports made during the year.
• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is regular and effective to enable early intervention and effectively manage and mitigate risk. This includes maintaining and updating the client's wide Asset & Liability register, and working with teams to monitor and ensure individual register owners comply with prescribed reporting requirement

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Governance Business Partner role or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience of GDPR legislation and commercial law.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
