Job Role: Clerk of Works (Project Delivery)
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 2-3 months (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position
Location: Hammersmith  
Office Based/Hybrid: Mostly on site with some office and home working.
DBS Required: DBS required 
Rate of Pay: £300 a day umbrella inside IR35

Short Brief/Requirement:
To be responsible for the deliver the Council’s Capital Project programme by managing and monitoring of construction activities on-site of term contractors, sub-contractors’ other departments, utility companies and external organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

• To manage traffic signs and carriageway markings within all works to ensure that they comply with Traffic Management Orders, Department of Transport Regulations and the Council’s Streetsmart Design Guide
• To check CAD drawings, final working drawings and specifications and “as-built” drawings against Traffic Management Orders, prior to and post implementation to ensure compliance.
• To assess the work of contractors on substantial and final completion site visits on behalf of the Project Engineer’s to establish a snagging list and remedial works. To ensure that all work that has been ordered is satisfactorily completed.
• To ensure traffic management at work sites is correctly managed. To ensure full compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Construction
• To carry out any other tasks on site or otherwise consistent with the general and specific duties contained within this job description and as instructed by the Project Engineers’ and line management.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Clerk of Works (Project Delivery) or equivalent
• Experience of working in the Transport and Highways industry at a project delivery level.
• Experience of working within current legislation including:
  The Highways Act 1980,
  New Roads and Street Works Act 1991,
  Traffic Management Act 2014,
  Road Traffic Regulations 1984,
  Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015,
  Flood Water Management Act 2010,
  Town and Country Planning Act 1990
  Including required codes of practice and statutory instruments.
• To have the technical expertise and experience to manage the delivery of Highways and traffic projects.
