Role: Employment Law Solicitor (Head of Team) Experience: 5+ Years’ PQE
Location: Harrogate

Job Description The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Leading the Employment Law Team and managing a diverse, high‑profile caseload.
• Advising businesses and individuals on a full range of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
• Providing day‑to‑day HR support and guidance to clients.
• Handling employment disputes, restrictive covenant issues, TUPE matters and settlement agreements.
• Drafting contracts, policies, procedures and tribunal documentation.
• Conducting advocacy before the Employment Tribunal.
• Managing independent investigations, mediation and workplace dispute resolution.
• Delivering training and seminars to clients and internal teams.
• Developing new business opportunities and helping grow the department.
• Representing high‑profile and industry‑leading clients, including sports organisations.

The Successful Candidate The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years’ PQE with broad Employment Law experience.
• Strong skills in drafting pleadings, witness statements and tribunal documents.
• Advocacy experience before the Employment Tribunal.
• Proven experience negotiating settlements and advising on complex cases.
• Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to assess risk effectively.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a demanding caseload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, self‑starting approach with the ability to work independently.
• Commitment to high ethical standards and exceptional client service.
• Ability to build relationships, generate new clients and contribute to business development.
