Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Housing Association in Cornwall, are looking for an experienced Fire Risk Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their risk management operations.  

Position: Fire Risk Officer
Salary: £43,443 per annum 
Contract Duration: Permanent

Purpose:

• To provide specialist fire safety advice to the organisation and all other areas covered by service level agreements. To ensure that the organisation and others operate within specified legal requirements with regards to fire risks. Develop action and safety implementation plans for all areas where necessary. Ensure that works arising from fire risk assessments are carried out according to set priorities 

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure that regular inspections are carried out on all dwellings and buildings with common areas, undertaking fire risk assessments according to PAS 79.
• Audit and review of 3rd party fire risk assessments undertaken by contractors.
• Work with the Primary Authority and colleagues following any fire related incident, to investigate, understand and communicate learning outcomes.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in carrying out fire risk inspections and producing reports.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. 
• Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessment training (Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent).
• Access to own vehicle would be desirable. 
• Experience of working within complex Social Housing.
