Driving Licence Required: Yes
Rate of Pay: £22.58 p/h umbrella

Short Brief/Requirement:
We are seeking a committed individual to join us as a Waste Collection Round Leader.

This role is a varied role to work as a team player, be a quick learner, able to carry out a range of duties (including loading and handling waste) and working with minimum supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a waste collection round, ensuring safe and timely completion of daily routes
  
  
• Drive HGV vehicles in line with legislation, Council policies and road safety standards
  
  
• Carry out manual handling duties, including loading and moving waste containers
  
  
• Support and guide collection crew members, promoting teamwork and safe working practices
  
  
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
  
  
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and operational protocols
  
  
• Maintain accurate records of route completion, incidents and service variations
  
  
• Provide professional customer service when interacting with residents and businesses
  
  
• Report issues such as contamination, access problems or missed collections

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Waste Collection Round Leader (HGV) or equivalent
• At least two years LGV driving experience, preferable rear steer vehicles
• Valid HGV Category C licence
• Valid CPC qualification
