JOB SUMMARY
Family Support and Safeguarding Service is seeking an experienced Consultant Social Worker to join its long-term social work team on a locum basis.
This is a rewarding senior practitioner role, offering the opportunity to work directly with families where there is a high level of need, while also supporting and developing social work practice across the team.


JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Work with children and families where there are complex safeguarding concerns
• Provide practice leadership, mentoring and support to less experienced social workers
• Act as Practice Educator for students and/or ASYEs (PEPs desirable)
• Lead on a practice area of interest, aligned with the service’s practice framework
• Support high-quality, timely and effective statutory safeguarding practice
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children

  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England
• Significant experience in children’s family support and safeguarding
• Proven ability to lead practice and support professional development
• Strong experience of multi-agency working
• Ability to attend the office 3 days per week
• Availability to start ASAP
