Job Role: Property Solicitor
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 3 (possible extension)
 Location: Kensington
Office Based/Hybrid: TBC
Rate of Pay: £40.10p/h (Umbrella inside IR35)
Hours: 21.6 hours per week.

Short Brief/Requirement:
Provide professional/technical legal advice and guidance to clients, colleagues in legal services, managers and partner agencies to contribute to the delivery of both Councils’ objectives and priorities.

Provide legal and procedural advice to the Councils and relating to property legal transactions with a focus on commercial property.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• To contribute to the efficient and cost effective delivery of legal services in the Development and Property Team within a culture of client focus, continuous improvement, service excellence and employee development
• To undertake routine legal cases or matters, and deal with a limited number of complex cases under supervision, and to manage time and responsibilities accordingly 
• To assist the Principal Solicitors, Chief Solicitors and Director of Law as necessary 
• To always work within the case management system and record time on matters daily, meeting chargeable hours targets to enable the Service and its clients to budget accurately 
• To have general conduct of all matters which are the responsibility of the postholder ensuring that time limits applicable to the case are complied with. 
• This includes drafting, preparing and engrossing property contracts, leases and transfers  and other legal documentation, advising on law and practice.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Property Solicitor or equivalent 
• Must have CILEX qualification or a current practicing certificate from the Solicitor Regulation Authority
