Rate of Pay (Umbrella and Inside IR35): £20.08

Short Brief/Requirement:

• 36 hours per week – no overtime
• Shift work – we plan to go 24 hrs
• Have used Police radios
• The shift pattern varies. It is 36 hours a week and the shifts include earlies, lates, cover and nights over a 20-hour day.
• Once I have eight operators this is may change to 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, 36 hours a week.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

• Effectively participate in delivering an extended hour, 7 day Borough Control Room service, including CCTV responsibilities.
• Participate in ensuring the Borough Control Room is effectively and efficiently operated and deliver responsive and pro-active services to a high standard.
• Operate CCTV equipment and cameras in compliance with legal requirements, CCTV Code of Practice, council policies and Borough Control Room operating procedures.
• Provide support to the Police in the detection of crime and supplying evidential recordings as required.
• Record time spent in the CCTV room by Police Officers, and ensure that access complies with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
• Train council and police personnel on the use of CCTV equipment.

Job Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience working as Control Room Officer or equivalent
• A Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2 police check
• SIA (Security Industry Authority) license
• Use of Microsoft Office – specifically Excel and Word
• Ideally looking for candidates that have previously worked in a local authority setting but are open to other applicants too
• BTEC Level 2 CCTV course in Public Space Surveillance or equivalent training or qualification
• Have worked in a Local Authority Public Safety CCTV control room
• Have used Police radios
