Possible End Date: 16/06/2026 (possible extension)

Location: Southampton
Rate of Pay: £45.29p/h umbrella
Office Based/Hybrid: Hybrid

Job Summary:
Will be required to be in Southampton minimum 1 day a week.
  
This role will be initially overseeing x3 significant programmes of work (x3 direct reports) and will include a mixture of housing and commercial properties (housing bias).

These projects may be subject to change. The candidate will need a strong construction delivery background, with experience of delivering multiple large scale complex programmes of circa £50M+, and demonstratable experience of resolution routes under contract such as mediation and litigation. A working knowledge and recent experience of aligning projects with the Building Safety Act is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring team wide projects are managed in accordance with agreed
  Project Management and reporting principles.
• To engage with senior stakeholders and ensure effective communication and involvement throughout all stages of project activity.
• Track all project activity on medium to large scale complex projects,
  closely monitoring progress, including budget, programme, and scope
  monitoring through the agreed method (currently Project Online) ensuring this is regularly updated (at least monthly), and project goals are achieved.
• To ensure the above is monitored by Project Lead team members, carrying out checks as appropriate to ensure compliance
• Taking prompt and effective action to address risks including escalating and taking action to eliminate, reduce, or delay. To include supporting
  any team member Project Lead escalation as is required.
• Monitoring expenditure and costs against the funding as the programme progresses, being aware of the organisations overarching financial position. Including comprehensive planning and cash flow projections of the team wide projects

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Senior Project Manager role or equivalent 
• Chartership of a relevant organisation such as RIBA, RICS, CIOB, APM
• PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management qualification or equivalent professional experience
• Estates and Construction experience
