Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Clerk of Works to join their team and play a crucial role within their highways & transport operations.

Position: Clerk of Works (Project Delivery)
Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (June 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the deliver the Council’s Capital Project programme by managing and monitoring of construction activities on-site of term contractors, sub-contractors’ other departments, utility companies and external organisations.

Job Duties:

To supervise contractors to oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with the Council’s Streetsmart Design Guide, works orders, drawings, specifications, highway construction standards and Project Engineers’ instructions.
To ensure quality control is undertaken by regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes to maintain high quality throughout the project.
To ensure traffic management at work sites is correctly managed. To ensure full compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Traffic Management Act 2004.

Job Requirements:

Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
Experience of delivering projects, including managing contractors and sub-contractors.
To have the technical expertise and experience to manage the delivery of Highways and traffic projects.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
