Job Role: Traffic Management Order Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: July 2026
Number of Positions: 1
Location: Merton
Office Based/Hybrid: 3 days on site
Rate of Pay (Umbrella and Inside IR35): £35

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and processing of all TMOs and Notices related to highway, planning, parking, traffic regulations, car parking notices, Special Events Acts and Orders, including all necessary advertising and consultations.
• Prepare legal documents for the implementation of all Traffic & parking provisions including traffic calming, Controlled Parking places, Waiting and Loading Restrictions, Bus Clearways, bus lanes, Free Parking Places, Pay and Display etc.
• Manage the TRO digitisation software and the input of TRO information onto the DfT database and liaising with the contractor to solve input issues or update/improve the software.
• Deal with the highway section following resurfacing works providing plans for documentation to enable the highways section to reinstate on-site restrictions
• Recommending appropriate signing and carriageway markings to compliment or reflect Traffic Management Orders in accordance with Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant Traffic Order making experience.
• Detailed knowledge of all relevant legislative, technical and operational aspects of the traffic order making process
• The management of the traffic order making process including statutory requirements in respect of various types of Orders
• Maintenance of systems to ensure a comprehensive record of all TMOs including digitising TROs
