Role: Contested Probate Solicitor Experience: 3+ Years’ PQE
Location: South London
Salary: Competitive

Job Description The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Providing high‑quality legal advice to clients across a full spectrum of contentious and non‑contentious probate matters.
• Managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision from inception to conclusion.
• Working on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 for both Claimants and Defendants.
• Handling probate disputes involving allegations of forgery, undue influence, testamentary capacity, fraud, and complex trust document issues.
• Acting for executors in a neutral capacity and dealing with proprietary estoppel/constructive trust claims.
• Drafting settlement agreements and supporting the wider litigation function.
• Ensuring compliance with Law Society, Lexcel and SRA standards.
• Accurate time recording, billing and ensuring fee recovery.
• Supporting business development through marketing, client acquisition and profile building.

The Successful Candidate The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years’ PQE with strong experience in contentious probate and dispute resolution.
• A current practising certificate with no restrictions.
• Excellent ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support and reassure clients.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience meeting financial targets and working within regulatory standards.
• Ability to work effectively in an open‑plan office and remotely when required.
• A proactive, organised, and client‑focused approach, with confidence handling complex legal issues independently.
