Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, an Educational Institute in Bexley. Are looking for a STEM Technician (Multi-trade Carpenter) to join their organisation.

Job Role: STEM Technician (Multi-trade Carpenter)
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Until March 2026 (possible extension)
Location: Bexley
Driving Licence Required: TBC
Vehicle Access Required: TBC
DBS Required: Enhanced DBS required
Rate of Pay: TBC
Pay Negotiable: TBC

Short Brief/Requirement:

To support teaching activities through the maintenance and preparation of practical/technical resources within area of responsibility.
To provide technical assistance to students, lecturers and assessors
To proactively prepare and maintain materials, equipment and facilities in readiness for classes and practical activities.
To help devise and trail practical activities when required to assess suitability for student use.
To assist and provide support to teaching sessions as requested by lecturers.
To cost materials, ensuring best value and assist in ordering materials under the direction and control of the CM.
Be responsible for maintenance of appropriate records, such as risk assessments and COSHH sheets

Job Requirements:

At least 2 years experience working as a STEM Technician (Multi-trade Carpenter) or equivalent
Qualified and competent in Carpentry (City & Guilds and/or NVQ or equivalent).
Good working knowledge of a wide variety of construction trades
Experience in devising, setting up and assisting with practical teaching tasks
Ability to work safely at all times in accordance with College and departmental risk assessments
Proven IT skills i.e. Microsoft Office
Regular CPD in trade areas of new innovations
