Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Principal Fire Safety Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role in their fire safety operations.   

Position: Principal Fire Safety Surveyor
Rate: £450 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension  

Purpose:

• Ensure fire safety compliance in council properties by conducting inspections, producing fire risk assessments (FRAs), specifying remedial works (like fire doors or alarms), overseeing contractor performance, ensuring adherence to regulations, managing fire safety systems, and providing expert advice to departments, residents, and fire services.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Undertake detailed fire risk assessments and inspections, focusing on fire safety measures, compartmentation, and potential hazards in council housing and other buildings.
• Manage the delivery of fire safety projects, including procurement, contract administration, cost analysis, and monitoring work quality.
• Develop detailed specifications, schedules of work, and designs for fire safety improvements and remedial works.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Principal Fire Safety Surveyor role or equivalent.
• Degree level fire safety management / fire engineering related or equivalent qualification (general practice or management)
• Educated to an HND/C (Diploma) or equivalent gained through experience.
• Full professional membership to the IFE or similar professional qualifications (i.e. CIOB / RICS / CIH).
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
