Job Role: Contract Surveyor
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 6 Months (Possible extension)
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Croydon
Office Based/Hybrid: 5 days in for first 2-3 weeks and the 3 days in office
Rate of Pay (Umbrella and Inside IR35): £55.56 per hour

Short Brief/Requirement:

• To provide a customer-oriented General Building Service to Council tenants and schools ensuring value for money and performance against targets.
    
• To lead on allocated surveying projects
    
• Responsible for the delivery of the General Build Construction Programme
    
• To ensure the General Build Construction Programme meets the required standards of quality; contracted performance and value for money are provided and maintained.
    
• Make decisions as to remedial actions needed along with  understanding the consequences of actions and the importance of decisions, taking full account of the needs of tenants and leaseholders.

Job Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience working as a Contract Surveyor or equivalent
• A recognised building or surveying qualification.
• Experience of building maintenance and improvement works in buildings with specific experience of domestic properties.
• Experience of dealing with members of the public.
• Thorough knowledge of current and appropriate legislation with regard to building works, including CDM and health and safety legislation.
• A sound knowledge of building defects and solutions and the ability to estimate building costs.
• A sound knowledge of specification writing including the research, presentation and the production of full technical specifications and drawings using manual or computerised systems.
• Able to drive, with a current and valid UK driving licence and will be expected to provide transport (car) in order to be able to fulfil the requirements of the post. This is an essential user post.
