Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in North London, are looking for an experienced Senior Lawyer to join their team and play a crucial role within their legal & governance service area. 

Position: Senior Lawyer (Contracts)
Rate: £82.46 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• Manage a full and varied caseload of legal matters with an emphasis on commissioning procurement and negotiating and drafting contracts, including giving legal advice to colleagues within the Council on the law and practice.  

Job Duties: 

• To provide advice on legal matters, in particular, on all aspects of public procurement law. 
• To contribute to the development of the legal service through identifying opportunities for improvement. 
• To instruct counsel and external solicitors as required.   

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Solicitor, Barrister, Fellow of the Institute of the Legal Executives. 
• Minimum 2-4 years post qualification experience. 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
