Job Role: Pensions Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: 5 months (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position
Location: Harrow
Office Based/Hybrid: Hybrid working
Rate of Pay: £22.77 p/h umbrella

Purpose:
To lead and provide a comprehensive Teachers and NHS Pensions Administration service
Key accountability in managing the provision of a high-quality pensions service that meets service standards and complies with statutory regulations.
The post holder to provide specialist advice and administration support on Teachers and NHS Pension issues.
Technical Pensions knowledge to support with troubleshooting pensionable service errors.
To undertaking statutory reporting to Pensions Regulator and Pensions schemes.
To work as part of the HR Service in developing a highly customer focused and engaged service, whilst working with in the Council’s framework of policy and procedures as led by Government Legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform the Pension Auto Enrolment (PAE) process for all Council staff and generate and distribute notification letters as required. Include the PAE task for the Councils external clients once their individual staging date is reached   
• Maintain up to date records in order to complete the Monthly Data Collection (MDC) in respect of teachers’ salaries, service and pensions in an efficient and timely manner.
• To produce the MDC reports and verify the data before submission to TP.
• Ensure member records are maintained on the Enterprise Resource Planning System and Pensions Scheme portal.
• To verify the TP SAP reports data for new starters/multiple employments, leavers, change of position/regrading and change of hours ensuring the pension position is correct.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Pensions Officer role or equivalent.
• Authoritative knowledge of relevant systems, policies, regulations, professional guidelines, legislation and emerging developments within the specialist area such as the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
