Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Southeast England, are looking for an experienced Delivery Lead to join their team and play a crucial role in their digital & people services operations.       

Position: Delivery Lead
Rate: Negotiable (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) with Possible Extension  
Working Arrangement: Once/Twice a week in the office

Purpose:
Accelerating delivery on three fronts and include digital inclusion and developing digital literacy as core principles: 

• re‑designing priority customer journeys including digitally excluded residents, end‑to‑end and embedding self‑service.
• completing our website redesign on LocalGov Drupal and establishing robust content and accessibility standards.
• running pragmatic AI pilots that develop capacity and improve service quality with strong governance and human oversight.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Plan & orchestrate delivery across interdependent workstreams (customer journeys, website, AI pilots), managing scope, critical path, RAID, sprint ceremonies, and quality gates; align suppliers and internal teams to shared outcomes. This includes designing journeys that work for residents with limited digital access or literacy.
• AI pilots governance: run pragmatic test‑and‑learn cycles with human oversight; ensure transparency statements, DPIAs/EqIAs, and ethical guard‑rails are in place; capture benefits and lessons for scale.
• Resource and unblock: sequence work, surface gaps, commission targeted capacity (content design, research, delivery, dev) and drive decisions through governance (SRO/Board).

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Delivery Lead role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
