Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Hackney. Are looking for a Housing Maintenance Gardeners to join their organisation.
 
Job Role: Housing Maintenance Gardeners
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Until June 2026 (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position
Location: Hackney
Driving Licence Required: Yes
Rate of Pay: £20-23p/h Umbrella 

Short Brief/Requirement:

•  Maintain communal green spaces through grass cutting, shrub pruning, and seasonal planting.
• Operate and maintain horticultural machinery including mowers, strimmer's, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
• Apply pesticides and herbicides safely, following National Proficiency Test Council guidance.
• Support biodiversity by incorporating features like meadows, orchards, and bulb planting. 
• Ensure health and safety compliance, including the use of PPE and COSHH regulations.
• Interact courteously with residents and report any hazards or incidents.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in horticultural services and using mechanical equipment.
• Ability to maintain and identify faults in gardening tools and machinery.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Commitment to Hackney Council’s values, including equality, diversity, and continuous improvement.
• experience using Ride on Mowers, all power tools.
• A full UK driving licence is essential
