Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Essex, are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to join their team and play a crucial role within their digital technology delivery operations.    

Position: Technical Architect
Rate: £48,245 per annum
Contract Duration: Fixed-Term (12 Months) 
Working Arrangement: 1 day per week in the office (Hybrid) 

Job Purpose: 

• An experienced Technology Delivery / Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of cutting-edge IT solutions across the Council. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• You will be joining at an exciting time as the Council prepares for the National devolution and Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), where you will be involved with planning, implementing and supporting new systems and networks for the resulting new organisation.
• You’ll be responsible for managing and working with a team of three experienced technical engineers who maintain the Council’s cloud based and physical infrastructure.
• Ensure the Council’s infrastructure is capable of supporting the Digital Strategy and the Public Sector Network (PSN) as we move to the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
• Collaborate with the rest of the Digital Team including the Managers, to assist with meeting the Digital Strategy and leading the Technical Design Authority (TDA).

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Technical Architect Officer role or equivalent.
• Proven experience of managing systems lifecycles including the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid architectures.
• Expertise in infrastructure, networking, security, and software development lifecycle.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
