Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in North East London are looking for an experienced Compliance Inspection officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Legal operations.

Position: Compliance Inspection Officer
Location: North East London
Salary: £35 p/h umbrella inside IR35
Contract: 6 months possible extension 

Key Responsibilities

• Should identify if any ‘Cat 1’s or serious ‘Cat 2’ exist in a premises using their HHSRS training and collect adequate evidence and refer for enforcement, as guided by the enforcement policy.
• Carry out follow-up visits where informal / formal action has been taken and ensure non-compliant properties are regulated, notices complied with, or enforced if not, and made compliant through a range of interventions.
• Keep up to date with and assess changes in legislation, EH policies, procedures and systems, enforcement techniques, standards, codes and field work programmes; recommend changes to practices and implement.
• Ability to respond to urgent cases by carrying out inspections/visits anywhere in the borough with little or no notice.

Job Requirements

• Hold the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) qualification / become certificated in HHSRS within 6 months.
• Previous experience in a compliance based role.
• Previous experience working in a public sector role.
• A full, clean UK driving licence is essential for this role.
