Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Council, who are looking for a Deputy Chief Accountant to join their team based in North London. 

Position: Deputy Chief Accountant             
Rate: £53,817 - £68,265 DOE 
Location: North London (Hybrid)                       
Work Type: Permanent

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: 

• Deputise managing the financial accounting area with little to no supervision. 
• Oversee financial control regime on behalf of the Chief Accountant.
• Propose and deliver solutions for complex accounting problems. 
• Implement system improvements to improve the financial support provided to the council. 
• Directly manage others to ensure the deliver of Statement of Accounts. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies: 

• CCAB or CIMA qualification.
• Strong experience and understanding of local government regulations. 
• Excellent financial accounting knowledge. 
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. 
• Solid knowledge of IT systems as well as Microsoft Office.
