Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their housing compliance operations.    
 
Position: Private Sector Housing Officer
Rate: £35 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• Carry out inspections, with a high level of competency, of a wide variety of homes in the Private Rented Sector.

Job Responsibilities: 

• To assess and process applications for Disabled Facilities and Minor Adaptations Grants and where necessary monitor adaptation works to enable disabled residents to remain living independently in their homes.
• Undertake the investigation of service requests and programmed inspections under the provisions of the Housing Act 2004, Environmental Protection Act 1990 and other relevant legislation.
• To assess housing conditions and management in DFG Home Adaptations Service, give advice and take action as necessary, including enforcement action or grant assistance to ensure that living conditions and management standards are brought up to satisfactory standards.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Private Sector Housing Officer role or equivalent.
• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent housing related qualification).
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
