Job Role: Assistant Network Planning Officer
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Until March 2026 (possible extension)
Number of Positions: 1 position
Rate of Pay (Umbrella inside IR35): £20 p/h (Pay negotiable)
Location: Harrow  
Office Based/Hybrid: Mix of home and office/onsite client premises
Short Brief/Requirement: •
To support the Principal Network Planning Officers, Team Leader and Head of Service to ensure that all notices, licence and permit applications received satisfy legislative specifications and that Council objectives are achieved.

Represent the Council as an officer to educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for drafting of temporary traffic management orders together with the associated notices and maintaining NRSW Act Permit Register and as and when required the Local Street Gazetteer
• To work as part of the Network Management team in accordance with statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant Council policies and procedures
• Supervision of up to 3 staff within the team overseeing the service delivery of the Council’s Network Management Duty.
• Responsible for ensuring all invoices and payments are processed in a timely manner
• To process notice/permit applications received from Statutory Undertakers and Highway Authority to ensure compliance with the relevant codes of practice and specifications and that applications are co-ordinated with other proposed activities to ensure that the council complies with its network management duty

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a Assistant Network Planning Officer or equivalent.
• GCSE or good general  level of education demonstrating literacy and numeracy.
• Able to work towards the relevant training and qualifications for the Principal Traffic Order Maker role and Network Co-ordinator role
• Experience of planning and coordinating public utilities works and other street works with evidence of achieving deliverables / outcomes on time.
