Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Essex, are looking for an experienced Finance Processing Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their finance operations.      

Position: Finance Processing Manager
Rate: £35 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Maternity Cover (1 Year) with Possible Extension  

Purpose:

• This role is responsible for the Council’s financial processing and income control functions, providing a range of services to support the Council’s business areas in their day to day financial transactions. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• This includes a centralised service for the processing and payment of invoices payable by the Council, the prompt allocation of all income and ensuring the integrity of the information fed into the Council’s General Ledger.
• Ensure the prompt processing and payment of all the Council’s supplier invoices and other payment requests (in excess of 30,000 per annum with a value of over £75 million).
• Ensure the efficient running of corporate financial management systems, in particular the purchase ledger and purchase ordering systems, including regular system reconciliations of all information feeds into the General Ledger from other systems across the Council and to liaise with other departments to resolve any issues or anomalies.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Finance Processing Manager role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
