Rate of Pay: £44,911 per annum
Short Brief/Requirement:
This is a hybrid role, so they can base from home if you wish. The role will involve some travel as required across our operating regions to support the team.

Role Purpose:
To take a lead role in the internal conveyancing process for the disposal and acquisition of land and property assets ensuring that the legal transfer of these assets is conducted in accordance with Aster’s legal and charitable obligations.

This is a role involving management and supervision of a varied caseload, including complex or sensitive transactions and supporting the conveyancing team by providing operational guidance and leadership, technical oversight and day-to-day assistance with legal and procedural enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of conveyancing transactions, including complex and sensitive disposals and acquisitions from property selection through to post-completion
• Instruct and liaise with external legal representatives to progress transactions, responding to enquiries, reviewing and approving draft documentation and facilitating the completion of legal documents such as contracts for sale, transfer deeds, leases and deeds of variation.
• Act as a key point of contact within the team for technical queries and procedural support, including interpreting title documentation, reviewing legal instruments and advising colleagues on appropriate action.
• Act as deputy to the Conveyancing Manager, supporting day-to-day oversight of the team, resolving transactional queries and helping to deliver a consistent, proactive, high-quality conveyancing division to support the delivery of the wider strategic asset management objectives.
• Support the Conveyancing Manager in developing and improving internal processes, templates and working practices to enhance efficiency, ensure consistency and contribute to the delivery of the wider Strategic Asset Management objectives.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a housing association or a similar organisation.
• A recognised legal qualification (e.g. law degree, CILEx, or equivalent) is desirable alongside sufficient relevant experience in conveyancing or property law.
• A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in conveyancing or property law, demonstrating strong knowledge of the conveyancing process, title documentation and legal instruments relevant to disposals, acquisitions and associated land matters
