JOB SUMMARY
Deputy Head of Initial Contact and Response within Adult Social Care. This is a senior leadership opportunity designed for an experienced and passionate professional with a proven track record in managing integrated care services

You’ll be responsible for operational excellence, strategic planning, and delivering person-centred outcomes across key service areas — including the Integrated Hospital Discharge Team, Integrated Independence Team, Information and Access, and the Out of Hours function
  
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Leading service delivery and operational quality across multiple adult social care pathways.
• Supporting the workforce to thrive through clear leadership, effective communication, and a strengths-based approach.
• Driving efficiencies and effective resource use to support budgetary control and long-term sustainability.
• Leading change through innovative service development, project delivery, and collaborative partnership work across the Council and Integrated Care System.
• Managing complex performance data, preparing for inspections (e.g. CQC), and implementing national directives into operational best practice.
• Ensuring the delivery of high-performing, inclusive, and person-centred adult social care services 

  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Qualified professional in Social Work, Nursing, Allied Health, or Public Health with relevant registration.
• Extensive leadership experience in a large, complex adult social care or health organisation.
• Proven success in delivering person-centred outcomes and managing high-performing teams.
• Experience with managing integrated or multidisciplinary services.
• Strong understanding of health and social care legislation, policies, and strategic reforms.
• Budget management experience and evidence of driving value for money.
• Politically astute with the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
