Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a global law firm, who are looking to recruit an experienced Associate to join their Tech Transactions team based in the San Diego, CA area.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• You will be strategically located in important global technology hubs and markets as a technology transactions lawyer, helping clients from a variety of industries handle legal complexities pertaining to intellectual property, licensing, data privacy and security, and complex business transactions.
• Technology-driven businesses encounter a variety of opportunities and difficulties, from negotiating agreements to handling legal issues and intellectual property management, all of which call for knowledgeable legal advice with a sophisticated grasp of how business and law interact.
• In order to deliver the best possible service, you will become fully immersed in each client's technological environment and assist them in navigating challenging situations with accuracy, assurance, and wisdom.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE 

• J.D. from a recognized legal school and current, in-good-standing membership.
• Three to five years of relevant experience working in an internal legal department or at a law firm.
• Thorough understanding of commercial contract law and intellectual property, especially as it applies to digital assets, hardware, and software.
• Familiarity with open source license frameworks and data privacy laws (such as the CCPA and GDPR).
• Strong communication, drafting, and negotiating abilities.
• Capacity to handle several client requests in a hectic setting
