Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Southwest London, are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Environment & Sport service area.        

Position: Environmental Health Officer
Rate: £60 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• To carry out the duties and functions of the Council, with regard to the highly complex range of Environmental Health and Housing responsibilities covering residential, commercial and industrial premises and the environment in general so as to ensure healthy living, working and recreational conditions for all members of the community.

Job Duties: 

• Assist with/develop our inspection programme for environmentally permitted processes (LA-IPPC Part A2 and Part B operations). 
• Specifically assist in the delivery of an investigation concerning odour from with direct support from management. 
• To investigate and resolve service requests from various sources in relation to the full range of Environmental Health and Housing responsibilities in accordance with Departmental procedures and guidance. 

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Experience within a Assistive Technology Business Manager role or equivalent.
• Degree in Environmental Health or a Diploma in Environmental Health that is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) AND EITHER a Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board OR registration as a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
