Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in the West Midlands, are looking for a Estate Surveyor to join their Surveyor operations.

Job Role: Estate Surveyor
Contract: 4 months 
Location: West Midlands
Rate of Pay: £37.76 p/h umbrella

Main duties/Responsibilities:

• To undertake a range of estate and asset management duties relating to the Council's operational, investment and non-operational premises, including landlord & tenant matters, property acquisitions, disposals and developments.
• To assist in the development of appropriate systems and methods to effectively discharge the duties of the Property Services function.
• To ensure adequate liaison with all other members of the Council’s Property Services team and other Council’s teams in areas of mutual interest to enable effective service delivery. Liaison with the legal team, particularly the Property Solicitor, the finance team and key partners and stakeholders at all stages.
• To ensure that best professional practice is always observed, including adherence to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Rules of Conduct and ethical standards.
• To ensure that best value for money is obtained for the Council from all activities.

Job Requirements:

• A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, for example estate management, facilities management, property management or Town and Country Planning.
• Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) member or a commitment to achieving membership status.
• Full UK drivers licence 
• At least 2 years’ post qualification experience working as a Chartered Surveyor in the commercial property field.
• Estate management experience, including negotiating commercial rent reviews and leases.
• Property valuation experience using market, income and cost approaches.
• Experience of marketing property for sale and for letting.
