Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in West Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Major Developments Manager to join their team and play a crucial role within their planning, transportation & Highways operations.        

Position: Major Developments Manager
Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• To provide effective management of and leadership to the Major Developments team within Development Services to ensure that it makes the maximum contribution to the regeneration and sustainability of the district through effective delivery of the statutory responsibilities of the local planning authority with particular regard to the effective and proactive control of major development and minerals and waste major development.

Job Duties: 

• Manage the group within the strategic framework, ensuring that resources, policies, systems and procedures are in place to deliver effective and efficient services, in line with the constraints of available budgets.
• Ensure the collection of information on the delivery of financial contributions received under Planning Obligations and other agreements and prepare and present reports as requested. 
• Work with the Development Services Manager to ensure performance against targets including the regular monitoring of work load and appropriate allocation of resources. 

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Experience within a Major Developments Manager role or equivalent.
• Uses knowledge, safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations, including risk in own area and/or other areas of work local
  and national planning policy, NPPF, NPPG, all planning law.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
