Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southampton.  Are looking for a Building Surveyor to join their organisation.

Job Role: Building Surveyor (Damp & Mould)
Temporary or Permanent: Temp
Possible End Date: Likely to be 12 months with a possible extension  
Location: Southampton
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.15pm and 7.30am - 3.15pm on a Friday. 
Driving Licence Required: Yes
Vehicle Access Required: Yes
Rate of Pay: £29 p/h umbrella
Pay Negotiable: Potentially

Main duties/Responsibilities:

• Contribute to delivering the aims, priorities and business plans for the repairs and maintenance service assisting in the day-to-day management of resources and continuity of service provision within the remit of repairs and maintenance activities.
• To work proactively and collaboratively with colleagues, partners and external agencies to embed the necessary, sustainable changes in culture and practice to meet the strategic and transformational needs and aspirations of the Council.
• Proactively undertake detailed site inspections and reviews as required relating to damp and mould issues and / or disrepair / insurance claims either actual or potential. Investigate repair and maintenance history data and establish remedial solutions to improve property conditions.
• Carry out detailed investigative surveys to properties using small power tools and specialist surveying equipment and make good on completion.
• Analyse survey findings to identify causes of damp and mould / other issues and provide practical advice, support and literature to residents and other officers.

Job Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience working as a Building Surveyor or equivalent
• Full UK Drivers Licence and access to own vehicle 
• Experience in dealing with disrepair claims, including attending court.
• Experience of successfully administrating and managing contracts/programmes of work.
• Demonstrable experience of H&S and CDM2015 applied in Social Housing.
