PAY RATE: £40,434 – £50,075 (including £6,000 market supplement)
WORK TYPE: Permanent

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking passionate and skilled Social Workers to join our Family Safeguarding Service within Children and Family Services. JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Provide professional, comprehensive casework to children, young people and families, ensuring high standards of practice.
• Assess the needs of children and families, analysing information and drawing clear, evidence-based conclusions and action plans.
• Manage cases in line with statutory responsibilities and Council policies and procedures.
• Prepare high-quality reports, assessments and care plans, including statements for court proceedings.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records using ICT systems.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies, parents, carers and young people, promoting participation and service development.
• Attend child protection conferences, reviews and court as required, representing the Council with professionalism and integrity.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all areas of practice.
• Take part in duty rota arrangements where required.

  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
• Strong commitment to continuous professional development.
• Experience assessing the needs of children and young people.
• Ability to analyse complex information and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
• Knowledge of child protection, Looked After Children, the Assessment Framework and relevant legislation.
• Strong organisational, planning and report-writing skills.
• Confidence working within multi-agency environments.
