Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in West Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Business Support Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their special educational needs operations.        

Position: Business Support Officer
Rate: £18.20 per hour (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (March 2026) Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• As a Business Support Officer, the post holder will primarily provide business support to enable the Local Authority to meet its statutory obligations as detailed within current legislation (Children and Families Act 2014), the associated SEND Code of Practice 2014 and The Change Programme linked to the National SEND and Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy.

Job Duties: 

• This specific role is typically focussed on supporting the Senior SEN Support Officer with the processing of EHC needs assessment requests.
• Supporting the processing of incoming EHC needs assessment requests.
• Circulating the information to key stakeholders as per the requirements of The Change Programme.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Experience within a Business Support Officer role or equivalent.
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English & Maths, or demonstrable experience.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
