Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a global law firm, who are looking to recruit an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join their team based in New York.

JOB ROLE

This role for a Conflicts Attorney includes doing new customer research, managing and resolving conflicts of interest and other compliance issues, and assisting the firm's business intake procedures. 

The ideal applicant will be dedicated to quality, have a proactive attitude to problem-solving, and have a sophisticated understanding of legal ethics.


JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Oversee the firm's new business intake procedure, making sure that prospective clients and matters are thoroughly and effectively evaluated.
• Use both internal and external databases to perform thorough conflicts of interest analyses for new business engagements.
• To address possible conflicts of interest, draft and implement ethical walls and conflict waivers as needed.
• Encourage a culture of ethical awareness and compliance by advising lawyers and employees on their ethical responsibilities and adherence to the Rules of Professional Conduct.
• Give staff members and attorneys advice and training regarding the firm's business intake and dispute policies and processes.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• A Juris Doctor from a recognized legal institution and being admitted to the Bar
• A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in conflicts management, ethical compliance, or a similar discipline within a big law firm environment
• Demonstrated a strong sense of ethics and an understanding of the regulations governing professional duty.
• Outstanding research, communication, and analytical abilities with a meticulous approach to problem-solving.
• demonstrated capacity to handle complicated data and quickly reach well-informed conclusions.
