Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy charity in Kingston, are looking for an experienced Adulthood SEND Team Manager to join their team and play a crucial role within their SEND operations.        

Position: Adulthood SEND Team Manager
Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella, Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (April 2026) Possible Extension  

Job Purpose: 

• The SEND Service is responsible for managing the statutory functions involved in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), whilst working collaboratively with the child or young person and their families, the educational setting and all other professionals involved.

Job Duties: 

• Will be responsible for overseeing and managing the work of EHCP Coordinators, including advising on managing particularly complex casework and ensuring that the coordinators undertake statutory work around SEND annual reviews, phase transfer and placement processes in an efficient and timely manner, reaching appropriate placement decisions for children and young people and follow the ceasing process as per SEND code of Practice. This will involve working with those who are on alternative provision placements, those who are Educated Otherwise than in a School and those that are Electively Home Educated.
• The team manager will be responsible for joint working with our local FE colleges to ensure that young people's journey towards independence aligns with the Preparing for Adulthood agenda and the colleges are meeting all statutory deadlines around annual review timeliness.
• This role will also involve monitoring key performance indicators and feeding data into weekly meetings, leading mediations as required and monitoring systems for the management of review processes.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Experience within a Adulthood SEND Team Manager role or equivalent.
• Educated to a degree level or equivalent with a relevant professional qualification (teaching, education, children’s services, social work, disability or psychology) and/or relevant experience in SEND.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
