Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority near Guildford are looking for an experienced Administrator to join their team.  

Position: Administrator (Housing)
Rate: £18 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (6 Months) with Possible Extension
Working Pattern: Guildford Office Based 

Job Purpose The Housing Repairs Administrator provides direct support to tenants by handling enquiries, assisting with minor issue resolution, and ensuring timely access to tradespeople for necessary repairs. The role supports the Housing Repairs Team in maintaining safe and secure properties for tenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to tenant enquiries via telephone and correspondence, providing guidance and support.
• Assess and process housing repair requests using the Orchard system.
• Update and maintain repair job records, ensuring accurate tracking and status updates.
• Liaise with the Housing Repairs Team and external contractors to facilitate repairs and maintenance work.
• Coordinate with other council teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Process invoices, liaise with contractors, and respond to related enquiries.
• Provide status updates to customers, prioritising urgent repairs in consultation with the Team Leader and caseworkers.
• Administer rental garage stock, handling queries, arranging repairs, new tenancies, and tenancy swaps.
• Maintain confidentiality in line with data protection policies.
• Carry out additional duties as required to support the team.

Person Specification Qualifications & Experience

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Essential).
• Qualification in administrative duties (e.g., NVQ Level 2) (Desirable).
• IT-related qualification (e.g., ECDL) (Desirable).
• Previous experience in an administrative role within an office environment (Essential).
• Experience working in local government or a similar public sector environment (Desirable).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Essential).
• Accurate keyboard and data entry skills (Essential).
• Ability to take minutes and maintain accurate records (Essential).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Essential).
• Strong organisational and time-management skills (Essential).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues at all levels (Essential).
