Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Licensing Compliance Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their licensing operations.  

Position: Licensing Compliance Officer
Rate: £28 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• To be responsible for delivering an efficient, effective and reliable support service to maintain professional and legal standards. 
• Protecting the health, safety and welfare of residents, businesses, visitors and employees. 
• Being committed to the Council’s core values and demonstrating this commitment in the way that duties are carried out by supporting the following teams/functions: Environmental Public Protection; Food Safety & Infectious Diseases; Health & Safety, Animal Health and Special Treatments; Licensing & Markets; Pest Control; Private Sector Housing & Trading Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing high quality, sound, timely and accurate professional/technical advice, guidance and information about any work matter, to customers, colleagues, members of the public, Elected Members (Councillors), Senior Managers, solicitors and other professionals in a clear format that is understandable and appropriate.
• Preparing/assisting with legal cases; giving evidence as a witness at Court/Tribunal/Hearing.
• Ensuring that any representations/applications comply with licensing legislation, government guidance and the Council’s licensing procedures, policies and standard terms and conditions.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Licensing Compliance Officer role or equivalent.
• An interest and motivation to work within in a Regulatory/Law Enforcement setting.
• A good level of computer literacy e.g. MS Office applications and the ability to learn new systems.
