Purpose of the Role: 

As my client's lead expert on energy, you will drive the strategic and operational direction of energy generation and distribution across the organisation. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for heat networks and energy, while identifying and delivering opportunities for energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and value creation. Acting as the key point of contact for all energy and carbon-related matters, you will work closely with colleagues across the business and play a central role in shaping and delivering my client's sustainability strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development and implementation of my clients energy generation and distribution plans in alignment with sustainability and corporate goals.
• Manage energy procurement through brokerage agreements, ensuring contracts deliver value for money; regularly review procurement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Prepare the business for upcoming heat network regulations and maintain proactive relationships with regulatory bodies including Ofgem, DESNZ, and the Code Manager.
• Identify and drive opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and lower operational costs across homes, operations, and the supply chain.

• A relevant first and/or second degree (e.g. energy management, engineering, building services).
• Full membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Energy Institute, CIBSE, EMA).
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
• Deep understanding of energy efficiency technologies and techniques.
